Who Qualifies To Get A Bursary Or University Student Loan From NSFAS?



The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has formally opened the 2025 application process.

Applications are now open and will close on fifteen December 2024.

*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding

To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant will have to satisfy the following requirements:

• Be considered a South African citizen or copyright who comes from a house using a combined gross house income that doesn't exceed R350 000 for each annum.

• Persons with disabilities qualify if their combined household earnings would not exceed R600 000 per annum.

• SASSA recipients instantly qualify for funding and need not submit any evidence of earnings.

*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open up to all South African citizens and permanent residents from households with combined R350 000 and R600 000 per annum.

Applicants are reminded to supply the correct Identification Document numbers, names, and surname, as mirrored of their South African ID.

NSFAS only funds people who are studying or intend to research at a general public university read more or TVET college in South Africa.

All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to here wait until the last day.

Learners do not click here have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
